Paying it Forward

Background

At Homecoming, Dr. Habecker announced that Taylor had identified $16.3 million for the new $20 million dollar Campus Center.  As of this week, we have over $19.5 million raised. This new Campus Center has been a vision of the Taylor Administration for over 50 years, since President Milo Rediger saw the need for it and now Dr. Habecker has been able to make it a reality. The completion of this project is a milestone in Taylor history that you have the unique opportunity to be apart of.

Details

Our initiative is called Paying It Forward.  Our mission is to raise awareness and create unity among the entire student body, as the groundbreaking of the new Campus Center gets closer on April 9th.  We recognize this building will have a continual impact on future generations and we want to honor that legacy, and have students join us in this initiative.

We are asking if you might consider giving a gift in honor of an individual who has shown you hospitality during your time at Taylor. This gives students the opportunity to honor a staff member, faculty member, or another student by sharing how they have demonstrated hospitality. This could be a professor who has opened their home to you, the staff member your wing visited for hangouts or Christmas morning, or a former student who made you feel welcome when you visited campus as a prospective… just to give a few examples.

Your gift will go toward the Hearth (fireplace) area in the new Campus Center. It will be located in the new dining area, beside the Jumping Bean. This special area will serve as an extension of the Great Room, symbolizing the impact an attitude of hospitality has on students at Taylor.
